1994 Borja Zabala Refused - Reinforced, Spaces, Contemporary Art Center, Girona, February 19

Refusé - Reforcé, by Borja Zabala, is a vindication of freedom of expression. The performance refers to the fact that it took place during the last edition of ARCO, in Madrid. In the action, the artist publicly explains what happened. This letter addressed to the director of the El País newspaper remains as a guarantee:

With the material from the Refusé - Reforcé action, in June 1996 Borja Zabala presented the exhibition Photosensitive Scenes, in which he once again records the act of censorship suffered by ARCO to state that a work of art not it can be subjected to opinions or directives.
