2025 Cycle of actions at the Dalí House-Museum in Portlligat

Portlligat, where the olive tree, the sea, and the wind dance with the Milky Way

Portlligat, a point of origin and return, constitutes the core of a universe that Salvador Dalí transformed into personal mythology. In this environment, at once tiny and immense, the sea, the olive grove, and the wind form an essential geometry that structures his work and artistic thought. The Madonna of Portlligat (1949 and 1950) is one of its most emblematic manifestations: Gala’s face and open body become an architecture of light and void, where objects levitate and the world is reorganized according to a new harmony — that of the enigma connecting heaven and earth.

This landscape, which Dalí transfigured into a space of revelation, finds today a new reading through three contemporary actions that reactivate its symbolic and material dimension. In Weightless, by Azucena Momo, the wind —an invisible force unifying movement— becomes an agent of human and cosmic connection, reactivating the universal dance that runs through Dalí’s work. In Harvest, by Isabel Banal, the olive tree becomes an emblem of permanence and memory of the place, a space where vegetal matter preserves the trace of time and human labor from a contemporary perspective. Finally, in Soak, by Mireia Coromina, the sea is articulated as a canvas evoking the idea of the finitude of painting and generating a tension line already present in many of Dalí’s canvases, where water becomes a space for mental projection and the shaping of form.

These three contemporary perspectives dialogue with Dalí’s imagination to explore the relationship between nature, body, and spirit, situating the landscape of Portlligat as a living space of revelation and creation.
