Perceptions Il·lusòries Dutch Actual Art, Can Felipa del Poblenou (Barcelona)

FESTIVAL D'ART D'ACCIÓ PERCEPCIONS IL·LUSÒRIES CAN FELIPA DEL POBLENOU

The actions and performances that will be presented on the opening day of the exhibition "Illusory Perceptions", Current Dutch Art" at the Can Felipa del Poblenou civic center are the following:

The poetry-action "Commissioner" that Jaume Alcalde presents is directly related to the last work that the artist has presented within the title; MAYOR OVEREXPOSED (Spaces 1993). In the context and globality of what it means to be exposed, "it develops the field of curation as a side action in every exhibition. Curation as an object of desire". This action is an analysis of what all kinds of exhibitions mean or entail. Its intention is to highlight the most banal aspect of this phenomenon, to demonstrate its lateral position. Using for that purpose concealment strategies, through networks or relationships of superimposed codes specifically, in the dissemination and erasure of the verifiable arrangement of the rules of the game and revealing their intentions in the use of the codes inherent in the process and in the indiscriminate use of the artistic apparatus.

C-72(Sònia Buxó, Mònica Buxó and Marta Domínguez) will contribute to the Presentations action where they discuss the content of the historical memory of the space and the change of use: "Fàbrica Tèxtil - Espai Lúdic". Specifically, whether or not the viewer and the artist know the past of the Can Felipa Civic Center produces a different perception regarding its current use. The fact of not knowing the past of the space generates an illusory perception of it, since it is only perceived as a recreational centre.

Denys Blacker, "When iron is dressed in fire, it loses its appearance bases his performance when iron is clothed with fire loses its appearance, in a poem written by a religious mystic of the 14th century that probably stages the idea of  "disappearance", as the other part inherent in the emergence of enlightenment. In order to give perception to this internal experience, almost always impossible to explain, paradoxes and literary hyperboles were used, with the purpose of conveying the intensity of the feeling. The intention of this performance is not to address the mind, but to rush directly to the emotions, since the purpose is that each viewer can have their own experience, that is, their illusory perceptions.

The intention of Pep Aymerich in "Cosmos" is to experience the fact of feeling an integrated part of an ALL, of an order, in a universal harmony both from a physical perspective, through the elliptical movement, and spiritual, on a more energetic level.

Borja Zabala i Lluís Alabern a in "The rules and roles of the game", despite the fact that he conceives the performances as actions of short duration, in order to synthesize the content as much as possible and demand the maximum attention of the public, as well as to be lacking in any staging and catharsis. Generally, they develop within the normality of socio-cultural everyday life is an ironic comment on the functioning of the institutions related to the artistic fact. The rules and roles of the game presents, in an almost exceptional way, something sublime just after reaching an agreement between the two opposing parties, due to their illusory perception of reality.
